Title of Exhibit: PEACEFUL ABIDING
Where and When: Spirit Room, 111 Broadway, Fargo, ND
January 15-February 29, 2012
Reception: January 19, 7PM
What: An exhibit of nine paintings by Jamestown native Will Buchanan.
Each painting is a colorful acrylic on canvas meditation on balance, color,
technique and energy of the moment. Concentric circles are a metaphor
for “getting centered”. Random chaotic backgrounds represent the “noise” of the
day. The paintings contains many uniquely sequenced color patterns showing
enlightened individuals of “different stripes” commingling and peacefully abiding.

Monday, Jan 9th come to the lower level of Ushers and if you’d like please bring 1-2 works of art that you would like others to critique. Artists will critique/talk about each others’ work. If you don’t have a work, you can still participate and see what others are working on. Appetizers will be served. You can purchase the beverage of your choice. It is another night to talk about art. Food! Beverage! and Art! – Can’t get any better than this!

The Center for Photography at Woodstock in New York has announced their new June through September photography Woodstock A-I-R residency program…to download an application and to learn more about it go to www.cpw.org …Participants receive workspace, critical a technical support, housing, stipends for food, travel, and honoraria.

Scarce as Hens’ Teeth Wednesday, December 14 at 7:00pm at DK Custom Framing @ Gallery 14 , Fargo, ND I am honored to host the debut exhibit Scarce as Hens’ Teeth: A photographic collection of wildlife living in ou…r back yard, captured by photographer Brad Berger. Brad, born a Viking child in the woods of Minnesota, naturally decided to pick up a camera in 2001 to share his observations with you. Please celebrate with Brad during his opening reception, Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 7:00 pm. Exhibit will be on display through December 30, 2011.
Included is a Call to artists and application for a table top or free form piece of bison artwork for the 8th Annual Custer Stampede Buffalo Art Auction.
The Custer Stampede Buffalo Art Auction is a public art project in Custer, SD sponsored by the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce. Artists are encouraged to apply to create a unique table top bison form or a free form/original piece of bison artwork. Artists are selected by committee, their work is displayed in Custer and throughout the Black Hills from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September, when it is auctioned off. This is a tremendous opportunity for artists to receive exposure and recognition to a very wide audience. Custer City is nestled in the Southern Black Hills of South Dakota, hosting over two million visitors a year and is close to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Custer State Park.
