We will also be hosting info sessions online and in select cities nationwide.

About the Projects We Fund

Creative Capital provides integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing innovative and adventurous projects. Acting as a catalyst for the development of exceptional and imaginative ideas, we support artists whose work is provocative, timely and relevant; who are deeply engaged with their artforms and demonstrate a rigorous commitment to their craft, yet are also boldly original and push the boundaries of their genre; who create work that carries the potential to reshape the cultural landscape.

About the Application Process

To apply for a Creative Capital grant, an artist must first submit an online Inquiry Form regarding his or her project. The Inquiry Form for Film/Video and Visual Arts will be available on the Creative Capital website on February 1, 2011. Inquiry Forms must be submitted by March 1, 2011. After the Inquiry phase, selected applicants will advance through two further application phases during the year, and grantees will be announced in January 2012. The Inquiry Form will reopen in February 2012 for Emerging Fields, Innovative Literature and Performing Arts.

About the Inquiry Form

Applying artists should be prepared to describe how a grant would be a catalyst for artistic and professional growth at this time, the influences that inform their work, and how their work takes an inventive and original approach to form and content. The Inquiry Form also asks for a total budget figure and for artists to identify audience(s) for their project and any possible presenting venues.

Questions? Artist-in-Residence, Teacher Incentive, Community Arts Access, and Presenter Support grants must be submitted online by April 1, 2010for programs taking place between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 (draft review deadline is March 15). The Traditional Arts Apprenticeship applications must be postmarked by May 15, 2010 for project periods of July 1, 2010 to April 30, 2011. Early submission is strongly encouraged for all programs.
The North Dakota Council on the Arts utilizes an online grant system that is designed to simplify and expedite the grant application process for everyone. All grants (with the exception of Traditional Arts Apprenticeship and Technology grant) must be completed and submitted via NDCA’s online system, which is available athttp://northdakota.cgweb.org/. If you have any questions, please call NDCA’s office at 328-7590.
The Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program provides matching funds for schools and other non-profit organizations to bring artists into North Dakota schools and communities to conduct residencies of three days or longer. The AIR Program is designed to provide students, teachers, and community members with hands-on experiences and personal interactions with working artists. Residencies give students an understanding of quality art and appreciation for cultural traditions. New Artists who want to participate in Artist-in-Residence program must be on the council’s Arts-in-Education Roster. Applications may be reviewed concurrently with Artist-in-Residence Sponsor applications.
As a community-based grant program, Community Arts Access is designed to benefit nonprofit organizations that present arts programming in small and rural communities in North Dakota. It also supports nonprofit organizations in communities of all sizes whose arts programming makes a deliberate and focused effort to serve a special constituency or an underserved audience in that community.
Presenter Support is designed to benefit nonprofit organizations that are not eligible for other grant programs through the North Dakota Council on the Arts, offers financial support for arts events and programming, and supports organizations in communities with a population of 6,000 or more. Communities with a population of under 6,000 should refer to the Community Arts Access.
The Teacher Incentive program is a means of providing financial assistance to teachers who wish to explore new and creative ways of incorporating the arts into the non-arts curriculum of a classroom. Projects may involve the visual arts, poetry/fiction writing, performing arts, architecture, folk arts, or any combination of artistic disciplines.
The Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program is designed to honor and encourage the preservation of North Dakota’s diverse living traditions by providing grants that allow master traditional artists to pass their skills and knowledge to apprentices on a one-to-one basis over an extended period of time.
Also, a reminder that the Professional Development, Special Projects and Technology grant applications are accepted throughout the year, but must be submitted no later than four (4) weeks prior to the start of the event. Early submission of applications is recommended since grant funds are limited and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
For further information, contact the North Dakota Council on the Arts at 701-328-7590; visit our web site at:http://www.nd.gov/arts/grants/grant.html; or e-mail amschmid@nd.gov.
These grants are supported by the North Dakota Council on the Arts, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Funding is contingent on availability of funds.
# # #
The North Dakota Council on the Arts is the state agency responsible for the support and development of the arts throughout North Dakota, and is funded by the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Posted via email from fmva’s posterous

NDCA Grant Deadlines Approaching

Grants

Opportunities

application

art

artist

artists

call

Design

email

grant

ND

NDCA

online

post

program

US

Application deadline dates for the North Dakota Council on the Arts grants are approaching. Artist-in-Residence, Community Arts Access and Teacher Incentive grants must be submitted, via NDCA’s online grant system, by November 1, 2009, for programs taking place between January 1 and June 30, 2010. Early submission is strongly encouraged for all programs. To access NDCA’s online grant system, or to view grant availability, please visit: http://northdakota.cgweb.org.

Also, a reminder that the Professional Development and Special Projects grant applications are accepted throughout the year, but must be submitted no later than four (4) weeks prior to the start of the event. Early submission of applications is recommended since grant funds are limited and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you have questions or concerns regarding NDCA’s online grant system, or would like additional information, contact the North Dakota Council on the Arts at (701) 328-7590; e-mail amschmid@nd.gov; or visit NDCA’s web site at: http://www.nd.gov/arts/grants/grant.html.
These grants are supported by the North Dakota Council on the Arts, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Funding is contingent on availability of funds.
