FM Visual Artists - Board of Directors’ Meeting –
Monday, February 21, 2011 – 4:30 pm

Members Present: Eric Syvertson, Brenda Luthi, Kris Kerzman, MacKenzie Kouba, Sarah Dotzenrod, Jackie Anderson, Eric Johnson, Jessica Wachter
President Eric Syvertson opened the meeting.
The President call for a motion to accept the January Board Minutes. Kris Kerzman so moved.
Art Partnership Executive Director Dayna Del Val presented, explained, and defined participating advantages FMVA has as a Partnership member. Also, the Partnership offers a newspaper, Art Pulse, with articles and advertising about FMVA artists if we submit the information in advance, about 2 months prior to the publication date.
Arts Partnership is having a March 7, 2011, 3:30 pm 5:00 pm open meeting for artists, at 1104-2nd Avenue South, Fargo. Space is available for 20 people.
Treasurer Jessica Wachter reported new membership checks have been received and tax papers have been filed.
Committee Reports:
Program:
Little Show will be hung on March 1 as scheduled.
Big Show : Brenda will contact Team Leader Ana Rusness-Petersen concerning the application forms that she would like/need to appear on the web site.
Members present discussed the pending flood and possible actions FMVA must take during that event.
North High - Mailloux Gallery : FMVA show will be September and October.
Spirit Room – It’s All In The Game will have dates on Web Calendar
Plains Museum – Big Country Show in progress with FMVA members accepted.
Events:
Visual talks: 3 meetings are scheduled at Uschers, at 7pm (Tonight, March 7 & 21).
Art Burn - Scheduled for Fall of 2011
Spring Social – The Big Show reception will be a FMVA spring gathering
Membership: Brenda Luthi distributed the new Membership Directory to Board members. It will be printed , assembled and sent to the membership this week.
College membership: no report
Communications:
Kris Kerzman will update Members list on Website with links.
E-mails /rss feeds errors. Posterous is no longer working. Also, If anyone interested in posting information besides President Eric please volunteer, because if Eric is out of town the list of entries tends to get past due and very long. Kris Kerzman volunteered. Duplicate postings need to be avoided.
Studio Crawl 2011:
No report – Jon Offutt is trapped in a South Dakota blizzard.
Gallery Crawl:
Jessica Wachter reported that she has contacted a few Galleries, but the Galleries need more information and concrete plans.

FMVA Awards for Outstanding Member:
Eric Syvertson presented the idea and possibility of creating an annual member award for outstanding FMVA support and activity to be presented at the annual meeting. The membership will be invited to present nominations with reasons why the nominee is deserving of the award. Ideas and plans for the award will be worked on by the Board.
Next meeting is Monday, March 22, at 4:30, at Moorhead Public Library.
